Residential Maintenance Assistant

Rubix are seeking a customer service minded Maintenance Assistant to support the Property/Resident Managers and Property Team in delivering the best experience for residents by completing planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant role will include the following:

Customer Service:

  • Add to the company’s extraordinary customer experience
  • Exercise initiative in responding to maintenance issues, liaising effectively with Resident Managers and other colleagues
  • Assisting with management of third party contractors to ensure completion of work and adherence to site health and safety procedures

Develop and manage teams:

  • General property maintenance of common areas and cleaning of apartments during turn around
  • Comply with regular fire safety and health and safety standards
  • Conduct scheduled flat inspections

General Facilities/Property Maintenance:

  • Contribute to the delivery of key performance indicators within the UNCLE portfolio
  • Assist with the day to day management of reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Provide support for electrical/plumbing repairs throughout the property portfolio
  • Assist with flat turn arounds and undertake redecorating rooms and communal areas


Skills & Experience Required:

  • 2 year domestic plumbing/general maintenance experience
  • Previous experience in mobilisation/opening of a new building(s)
  • Intermediate IT knowledge including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrable experience of effective communication both orally and in writing
  • Qualified to NVQ level 2 in plumbing maintenance
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays
  • Desired but not essential – IOSH, private residential property experience, Qualified to 17th edition level (IEE Wiring Regulations)


  • £23,000 basic salary
  • 10% bonus structure
