Property Client Accountant

Our client, who are a luxury property company based in Mayfair, are looking for a hard-working and proactive Client Accountant with great attention to detail and who will work well in a faced paced environment. The role requires having sole control of the day to day accounting function of the business, support will be provided by the Financial Accountant and Finance Controller.

Key duties:

Manage transactional accounting processes, including but not limited to;

  • Sales ledger – ensure invoices are raised / posted accurately and in a timely manner
  • Purchase ledger – Processing supplier invoices and reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Preparing weekly payment runs for supplier payments
  • Bank reconciliations monthly including foreign currencies
  • Managing of the Landlords floats, pay any expenses and send out updated statements to Landlords
  • Ensure that Landlords rents are transferred as per agreed and statements are updated and sent out
  • Check staff expenses and credit cards to ensure they’re accurately recorded and the supporting documentation is adequate i.e. VAT invoice where applicable.
  • Ensure that expenses comply with HMRC legislation and raise any queries with the financial accountant in a timely manner
  • Responsibility for petty cash including maintenance of petty cash records and completion of a cash reconciliation at each month end
  • Reconcile intercompany with the international subs and other sister businesses
  • Prepare and file Quarterly VAT and NRL returns
  • Maintain the prepayment and accruals schedules
  • Finalise the monthly results
  • Prepare the monthly Financial Reporting Pack

Key skills & Ideal skill set required:

  • A University degree relevant to Accounting/Finance
  • At least 1 years’ exposure to accounting in a working environment
  • Proven competence with Sage 200 and Microsoft Excel
  • Any knowledge of the Property industry would be beneficial
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy, well organised and well adverse to working in a fast-paced environment adhering to tight deadlines a must
  • Ability to work within a team, build and maintain good working relationships and find solutions
